The ores contain chalcopyrite with intergrowths of cubanite indicating high temperature deposition, and abundant magnetite later than the sulfides. This is attributed to sulfur deficiency of the ore-forming solutions and the ferrous nature of the environment. The surprising lack of oxidation and supergene processes is attributed to physical impermeability, aided in part by the peculiar composition of the ground water.
