Structural principles controlling the occurrence of ore in the Kolar gold field [India]

The gold-bearing quartz veins of the Kolar field, India, occupy a north-south fracture system in lower Dharwar (pre-Cambrian) schists. Mineralization was associated with igneous activity and is relatively simple.
