The ilmenite deposit of Abu Ghalqa, Egypt

M. S. Amin

Bands and lenses of ilmenite ore in the upper part of a small body of titaniferous gabbro in the Abu Ghalqa area of the Eastern Desert of Egypt were formed by gravitative accumulation of ilmenite-rich residual fluids during late stages in the consolidation of the gabbroic magma.
