An x-ray mineralogical study of some British Guiana bauxite deposits

George W. Brindley, and W. H. Sutton

X-ray analysis showed gibbsite and kaolinite to be the principal components of bauxite and associated bauxitic clays from four localities in British Guiana; minor constituents include anatase, boehmite, goethite, and hematite. Halloysite was not identified in any of the material studied. Well-crystallized kaolinite predominates over disordered varieties.
