Radioactivity in monazite, zircon, and "radioactive black" grains in blacksands of Rosetta, Egypt

Amin R. Gindy

Briefly discusses and tabulates observed values of radioactivity in monazite, in several different types of zircon grains, and in dark-colored or black metamict grains not previously recorded from the black sand concentrates of the Nile delta at Rosetta. The latter, which include several types of thorite grains, are more radioactive than the most active of the monazite grains.
