Modified field method for the determination of nickel in the presence of copper

V. G. Hill, and A. C. Ellington

A field laboratory method for quantitative determinations of Ni in the presence of Cu is described in detail. Approximately 160 samples can be tested per day by an experienced analyst. The method is a variation of the dimethylglyoxime technique using a Hg-amino compound to tie up the Cu, and sodium tartrate to tie up the Fe.
