Distribution of metals in the Don Tomas vein, Frisco Mine, Chihuahua, Mexico

In the Don Tomas vein of the Frisco mine, Chihuahua, Mexico, the distribution of metals is different on the 2 sides of a major fault. Through the use of appropriate statistical methods applied to assay data for Au, Ag, Pb, Cu, and Zn from some 4000 mine samples, a clear distinction can be made between the mineralization on either side of the fault. Geological interpretation of the statistical results is that the fault was formed before part or all of the ore was emplaced.
