Solubility of cinnabar in aqueous Na 2 S solution decreases with pressure and increases with Na 2 S concentration. With rising temperature, solubility decreases toward a minimum at about 100 degrees C, and then increases. Above 100 degrees C, therefore, cinnabar may deposit with falling temperature or dilution.
