Notes on similarities between some Canadian gold deposits and the Homestake deposits of South Dakota

George W. McConnell

Recent exploration in Contwoyto Lake area, Northwest Territories, has found gold deposit2 in amphibolite that resemble the Homestake deposit in mineralogy of host rock (grunerite hornblende cummingtonite schist), and ore (pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, pyrite), degree and style of deformation, and grades of metamorphism. Tertiary intrusives are not known.
