Solid solution of gold in sulfides

Hartmut Schweigart

With reference to a paper by K. J. Callow and B. W. Worley, Jr., on telluride minerals at the Acupan mine in the Phillippines, it is pointed out that retention of gold in sulfides after cyanidation is not positive evidence for solid solution, as extremely fine particle size may produce the same result.
