Sulfur isotopes of some central African sulfide deposits [discussion]

E. Dechow, and Mead Leroy Jensen

This discussion, by A. G. Darnley, refers to a paper by Dechow and Jensen published in 1965 (for reference, see this Bibliography vol. 30). High cobalt content and cobalt-nickel ratios correlate with high S 34 /S 32 ratios. Together with evidence for introduction of boron and potassium, this correlation suggests that mineralization of the Roan is epigenetic. Time of mineralization is believed to be the long interval between deposition of sediments and loss of porosity.
