Studies on geochemistry of platinum

B. Das Sarma, B. N. Sen, and A. N. Chowdhury

The platinum content of rocks, chromite, chalcopyrite concentrates, laterite, soil, and river sediments was determined by spectrographic analysis of fire-assay products. Chalcopyrite concentrates from the Singhbhum district, India, contained 25-70 ppb Pt, which is greater than amounts found in rocks and chromite.
