The origin of kaolin deposits, Mahlangatsha mountains, Swaziland

Deposits of kaolin in the Mahlangatsha mountains of Swaziland were derived from dolerite dikes in quartzites of the Precambrian Mozaan series. The dikes were intruded along faults prior to emplacement of biotite-microcline granite, hydrothermal solutions from which altered the dike. The age of this granite has been reported as 3,070
