Calculation of chemical composition of composite samples of coal from maceral composition

N. N. Chatterjee, D. Chandra, and T. K. Ghosh

The volatile content of coal can be calculated from the percentage of vitrinite, exinite, and inertinite if the volatile composition of the pure macerals can be determined. Results of determinations made in this way do not differ significantly from those of direct experimental determinations.
