Systematic changes in As/Sb values of geocronite (Pb 28 (As,Sb) 12 S 46 ) establish zoning patterns in the hydrothermal Pb-Zn veins at Huachocolpa, Peru. Ratios of As/Sb based both on electron microprobe analyses of single grains of geocronite and standard wet chemical and atomic absorption analyses of hand specimens rich in geocronite yield zoning patterns consistent with those derived from Pb/Zn and Ag/Pb ratios. Geocronite coexists at Huachocolpa with two other lead sulfosalts, boulangerite (Pb 5 -(Sb,As) 4 S 11 ) and veenite (Pb 2 (As,Sb) 2 S 5 ). A series of tie lines based on compositions of coexisting natural phases is established. Mineral syntheses imply a temperature dependence of these tie lines such that a given geocronite coexists with veenite increasingly enriched in antimony as temperature increases.
