High silver content of fluid inclusions in quartz from Guadalcazar granite, San Luis Potosi, Mexico; a contribution to ore-genesis theory

Stephen Chryssoulis, and Neil Wilkinson

Imp. Coll. Sci. and Technol., London, United Kingdom
Link Syst., United Kingdom

Besides sodium and potassium, manganese and iron were found in significant amounts. The results confirm that the base metal and silver transporting capability of some early magmatic fluids is considerable. Chloride complexes were the most favorable species for transporting silver and base metals. An electron probe in the energy dispersive mode was used to analyze the precipitates formed upon the decrepitation of fluid inclusions.--Modified journal abstract.
