Petrochemical studies of the Dunka Road Cu-Ni deposit, Duluth Complex, Minnesota

B. V. Rao, and Edward M. Ripley

Indiana Univ., Dep. Geol., Bloomington, IN, United States

Troctolitic sequence, divided into three major units. Oxygen isotope values confirm the chemical studies and indicate that major element assimilation is restricted to within approximately 10 m of country-rock inclusions. Pyrrhotite crystallization followed by separation of a Cu-rich sulfide melt, blending and partial crystallization of chemically similar magma, and enrichment of Cu in the final residual liquid.--Modified journal abstract.
