There are many places in the world with excellent mineral potential but where
poorly understood geology hinders exploration efforts. This is particularly
evident in developing regions of the world such as sub-Saharan Africa, central
Asia, China, and eastern Russia. In some cases, such as the latter two, it may
be that the geology is actually very well understood, but that this knowledge
hasnt been adequately conveyed in the English language. So there is some
